Terrorism consists of different range of illegal violent activities which is aimed at intimidating and creating fear in people. I would define terrorism as the use of unlawful violence or threat of unlawful violence to inculcate fear; intended to coerce or to intimidate governments or societies in the pursuit of goals that are generally political, religious, or ideological.† Within this definition, there are three key elements—violence, fear, and intimidation—and each element produce terror in its victims. This paper is going to define and discuss the issue of terrorism and explain the why is it so difficult to get a specific definition for term â€Å"terrorism†, while making references to some terrorist events and organization such as the holocaust, the black September organization, the boko-haram of west Africa and the al-Qaeda group. Major historic terrorism/ Mass genocide event has been as a result of differences in political beliefs. In most cases this involves, the left and right winged ideologies and a disagreement in the direction of change and the speed at which the change is expected. To the left of the political spectrum we have the Liberals and to the right the Conservatives. The Liberals consist of individuals who believe there is room for progressive change, the Conservatives on the other hand would rather maintain the status quo and if at all a change is required, it has to be a retrogressive change.
